Excalibur rowing's VandenBroek and soccer's Bryan selected as this week's Athletes of the Week (Oct. 29-31)

As the athletics season begins to move indoors, the Excalibur rowing and soccer teams concluded their OUA championships and regular season play with standout performances by Grace VandenBroek and Ainsley Bryan.

Winning the gold medal in the women's 1x event at the OUA Championships, VandenBroek  showed leadership and humility in her support for her teammates throughout the season and championships. On the water, her time of 8:31.239 was nearly 12 seconds faster than the silver medallist in the women's 1x race.

First-year defender Ainsley Bryan picks up Athlete of the Week honours as he stepped up during the Excalibur's weekend doubleheader matchup against the U Sports no. 3 ranked Carleton Ravens. Missing both his defensive partners, Bryan showed maturity and leadership and was a key defender for the Excalibur.
