Trent Excalibur is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Eric Samtleben, former head coach and student-athlete, Trent Excalibur Cross-Country team

Eric inspired countless students and athletes with his dedication and passion for cross-country running. Eric’s enthusiasm for the sport was infectious and his ability to motivate and encourage was unparalleled. Both as a coach and student-athlete, Eric emphasized the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. As an Excalibur student-athlete, Eric received the Coaches Award in 2021-22  for his commitment to the pursuit of excellence, for himself and his team. His impact extended beyond the track, as he was known for his kindness, generosity, and the genuine care he showed for each athlete.
