Four Excalibur Rookies Named to CUFLA Rookie All-Star Team
Local first-year standouts to represent Trent in East vs. West showcase at the Baggataway Cup
Four local rookies from the Trent Excalibur have been selected to compete in the second annual Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) Rookie All-Star Game, taking place this Saturday, during the Baggataway Cup Championship weekend.
Attackers Reed Chamberlain and Nick Fournier, defence Quinn Jacobs, and goalie Callan Baker will all represent the East in the national showcase, which highlights the league's top first-year talent.
All four players hail from the Peterborough region - Chamberlain, Fournier, and Baker are from Peterborough, while Jacobs represents Curve Lake First Nation.
Chamberlain, a Criminology student, leads the Excalibur in points this season with 28, while Fournier, studying in the Teacher Education stream, sits just behind with 27 and leads the team in goals with 20. Jacobs, a Business Administration student, and Baker, an Environmental Science major, have each been key contributors on the defensive end for Trent.
The 2025 CUFLA Rookie All-Star Game, presented by Lacrosse Canada, will feature the top East and West rookies as selected by league executives and coaching staffs. The game will be streamed live on YouTube at 8:30 p.m on Saturday.
The Excalibur concluded their 2025 season with a hard-fought 13–12 loss to the Brock Badgers in the CUFLA quarter-finals on Friday night.
